Deputy Head of School \nLocation: Northampton \nVacancy Type: Full Time / Permanent \nSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 Plus valuable benefits \n\nTeaching Personnel have a great opportunity to work with an Alternative Provision school based in Northampton. The school caters for Secondary students Key stage 3- Key stage 4 with SEMH. \n\nKey Duties \n\nA highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is approachable, promotes positive relationships, and fosters high expectations. Able to inspire and motivate students in a creative and adaptable way, particularly within alternative education settings.
\n\nCommitted to a high level of pastoral care with the ability to manage student behaviour effectively and provide meaningful support to students with diverse and challenging needs. \n\nDegree or equivalent qualification. Maths and English at least Level 2.
\n\nQTS/QTLS required. NPQSL and/or NPQH desirable. Specialist teaching qualification in a chosen subject is an advantage. \n\nProven experience teaching across the secondary age range with a successful track record as a Head of SEN or similar leadership role.
Experience using virtual learning environments is desirable. \n\nProficiency in delivering a chosen subject area and supporting staff with curriculum delivery in line with school expectations. \n\nStrong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, equality of opportunity, and inclusion—especially within schools with a high number of vulnerable children.
\n\nAbility to identify challenges quickly and implement appropriate, student-focused solutions that drive positive outcomes. \n\nConfident in communicating clearly and persuasively—both verbally and in writing—with a wide range of stakeholders including students, parents/carers, staff, and governors. \n\nDedicated to promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values across the school community.
