WHAT WILL THIS ROLE INVOLVE?
As a Post Office Manager you will be responsible for a strong team, you'll be tasked with driving forward both turnover and revenues from the store based on lean principles. Keeping a close focus on financial KPIs, including wages and counter discrepancies will form a key element of the role, together with non-financials such as customer service/feedback, internal audit and standards, compliance and conformance.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
1. Be an ambassador for Ryman and the wider Theo Paphitis Retail Group by showing interest in learning everything about the business and your role and positively sharing this knowledge with our customers
2. Take full accountability and responsibility for every aspect of your Branch
3. Confidently and professionally handle customer complaints and difficulties and ensure all colleagues understand the importance of driving customer loyalty
4. Drive a culture of excellent customer service ensuring all team members engage with customers enthusiastically, establish customer needs and help them to purchase by matching products to those needs through the application of a high level of product knowledge whilst highlighting relevant promotions and upselling
5. Create a great working environment for your team, leading by example and motivating your colleagues to drive sales, profitability and achieve agreed objectives
6. Encourage and recognise outstanding team and individual performance to maintain and improve team motivation and store morale.
7. Ensure the store team understand all sales and KPI targets and are supported to exceed them whilst identifying and improving performance issues where required
8. Manage and minimise all controllable costs efficiently and within planned budgets
9. Build strong relationships with store peers, the Ryman Retail Support Center, and all partners of Post Office Ltd
10. Assist with recruit, develop and retain high calibre colleagues that reflect the Ryman, TPRG and Post Office Values and Behaviours
11. Improve colleague retention by positive employee engagement
12. Minimise sickness absence by effectively leading and managing your team
13. Conduct investigations and disciplinaries where required, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures
14. Ensure the effective planning of store resource in order to profitably operate the store within agreed budgets
15. Ensure the security and accuracy of all Ryman and Post Office systems and ensure that all systems are utilised by all Team members as per company policies and procedures
16. Operate the till in an efficient manner, processing all transactions with a high regard to customer care and loss prevention procedures and ensure team compliance
17. Acquire and promote a high level of product knowledge and continue to develop that knowledge both for yourself and your team
18. Recognise and act upon opportunities to increase the value of sales by ensuring your and your team offers the appropriate additional items
19. Conduct annual performance reviews with your team
20. Ensure you keep the team fully informed and ensure two way communication is promoted through regular one to ones with your management team and the wider sales team
21. Drive a culture of coaching and development within the Branch in order to allow colleagues to reach their full potential and create a talent pool to contribute to both the Branch and wider business succession plans. Attend all required meetings and training courses
22. Assume full accountability for the overall security and safety of our people and property ensuring the Branch operates in line with company policies and procedures.
