Dorrington House requires a dedicated and conscientious team of support workers to join our friendly care home on a part time basis. We're seeking a caring and compassionate individuals who enjoys interacting with residents and assisting them with their daily living activities. Candidates must be warm and friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing our residents with high quality care and support.
Principal Responsibilities
* To ensure residents' mealtimes are a pleasant and dignified experience.
* To assist and encourage residents with their nutritional needs, choices, physical comfort, personal hygiene and appearance.
* To engage residents in meaningful activity or occupation to stimulate their interests and support them.
* To work in a manner that facilitates inclusion, particularly of residents with dementia through conversation with them, explanations and / or pictorial aids.
* To perform duties as specified by Team leaders and in line with the agreed person centered care plans.
* To assist residents with light, therapeutic domestic tasks for example laying and clearing tables.
* To encourage and assist residents with activities when in dining areas prior to meals being served.
* To assist other staff to serve meals and drinks in dining and communal areas or in residents rooms.
* To help staff with observations and record on charts and in care plans.
* To receive visitors into the Home and ensure they are made welcome and that the person they wish to see is aware of the visit.
* To assist in clearing and washing up after meals.
2 hours shift pattern– Breakfast 08:00 -10:00; Lunch 12:15 – 14:15; Tea 16:30-18:30
