We offer an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience and interest in research programmes to provide maternity cover that will manage setup and operations of the Doctoral College at the University.
As part of the Doctoral College leadership team (includes Director of the Doctoral College, Associate Director of Research Culture and Operations and the Research Culture Manager), you will oversee the Doctoral College operations team which includes Programme Coordinators and Administrators in managing and assuring the quality of research programmes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and setting up the operational routines of the College, including governance and reporting.
Your work is crucial in delivering the University’s Research and Innovation and Postgraduate Researchers (PGR) Strategies which aim to provide best possible experience to PGRs, research staff and other stakeholders. This involves working closely with partners across the university and understanding their needs as well as regulatory landscape.
What you will be doing:
* Leading on and managing the governance and operations of the Doctoral College, including reporting, student data management, finance, and other tasks encompassing the PGR journey
* Managing PGR programmes via implementation of a robust regulatory framework, portfolio development and delivery
* Be the focal point of expertise on PGR-related issues at the university, including for communication, customer service and support
* Fostering high-quality relationships with postgraduate researchers, research supervisors, research culture team and other stakeholders to satisfy the needs of PGRs and staff involved and thus contributing to the wider research culture at the university
Qualifications/ experience:
* Level 6 qualification or relevant equivalent experience / Postgraduate or professional qualification or equivalent experience
* Experience of PGR administration, programmes and staff management
* Experience of work in the HE sector, particularly awareness of PGR-related regulatory environment, audit and compliance, and Data Protection regulations
