About Us:

At Steris AST we are the trusted experts in neutral sterilization offering includes radiation and gas technologies.

We offer electron beam, gamma, X-ray, ethylene oxide and vaporized hydrogen peroxide technologies for the purpose of product sterilization. Whether that product be a single use medical instrument, a hospital environment, cosmetics and toiletries, or food products, we make sure that everything that makes its way to an end user is safe for use or consumption.

We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at a skilled professional level.

Working hours:

1. 42 hours per week
2. 3 on - 3 off
3. 08:00-20:00

What is involved

Safety

4. Daily inspection of site physical conditions
5. To ensure strict adherence to site security standards ensuring the plant alarm is activated each week.
6. To ensure all PPE standards are maintained and available to team members
7. To be a lead member in all plant risk assessments and educate people on associated risks
8. To drive and monitor 5’s standards throughout the site.
9. Ensure 5s+1 audit action are completed in line with due dates and escalated where required.

Quality

10. To ensure products with deviations are reported, quarantined and clearly identified and investigated
11. To ensure all calibration checks have been performed
12. To ensure site Quality standards are maintained and continually improved.
13. Perform daily GMP documentation spot checks
14. To perform quality investigations on non-conformances, including Human error, 5 Why, 8 Steps, etc.

Cost

15. To ensure all plant downtime is reviewed and monitored with suggestions for improvements highlighted, through data analysis tacking
16. To escalate any operational related downtime that is more than 1hr.
17. Manage consumable stock process, including replenishment to ensure monthly stock takes are conducted and stock levels maintained.

Delivery

18. To ensure all processing of products is in line with customers expectations and meets all processing
19. To ensure all products are clearly segregated and storage requirements are maintained.
20. To conduct weekly stock takes, highlighting products that have been processed but not shipped.
21. Ensure booking in of customers products is performed within a timely manner to ensure adherence to local targets

KPIs

22. To oversee SQDC counter measures ensuring target dates are reported
23. To monitor and communicate schedule adherence
24. Oversee continuous improvement initiatives/activities within the department
25. Oversee & drive 5S audit action program
26. Participate in site kaizen activities, gemba walks and continuous improvement tasks for the site

On-Call

27. Working hours will be agreed locally and align with the operational requirements of the business.
28. May be required to support on-call duties agreed as part of local site operational requirements.
29. Will be required to support off-site meetings within the UK
30. May be required to support off-site meetings outside the UK

People/Culture

31. Motivate and develop a team that can cover all required tasks, ensuring standards are maintained and overtime kept to a minimum, where possible
32. Create Individual employee development plans, provide coaching, and training
33. Complete Performance Management- annual goal setting & reviews (GPS), Supervise disciplinary actions
34. To complete Labour forecasting, planning, interview/selection, temporary staffing, & Overtime
35. To help create and maintain a proactive culture where team members are empowered to deliver the company values of TEAMWORK, PEOPLE, INNOVATION, INTEGRITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.
36. To drive the culture of OTOG through site team building days/days out.
37. To ensure performance related reviews are formalised and escalated where appropriate.
38. To ensure all return to work and ARM reviews are fully completed within 4hrs of start of shift.
39. To schedule, record and appraise each team member at least once per year, setting localised objectives
40. To assist in both succession planning and continuous improvement.
41. To ensure all break times are monitored and associates welfare is being met
42. Supervise the day to day resource plan, monitoring holidays and sickness in line with local performance targets, ensuring adequate processing cover always.
43. To carry out any reasonable management requests

Required Experience

44. At least three (3) years previous experience in successfully supervising operational staff is required
45. Experience in similar operational role in a operationally based business (production unit or plant).
46. Demonstratable experience in leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
47. Proficiency in coaching, training and mentoring employees.
48. Performance improvement experience and operational KPIs
49. Technical aptitude and knowledge of continuous process improvement techniques in a continuous improvement environment.
50. Qualification in a technical / supervisory discipline an advantage.
51. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
52. Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills with energy and charisma.
53. Proficient with MS Office suite.
