You will undertake research in social epidemiology with a focus on using administrative data-based research and related methodologies in line with the School's research strategy, to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to contribute to School administration/outreach activity. The principal aims of the lectureship are to: (i) develop a research programme in social epidemiology in the area of administrative data linkage that is allied to the work of the Centre for Public Health (CPH) and the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, (ii) increase the use of administrative data for research, expand the Northern Irish administrative data landscape and increase the application of associated methodologies to public health and health care research, (iii) contribute to teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level; and (iv) to contribute to Centre and School administration/outreach activity. At Lecturer level the successful candidate must have the following education/qualification and experience requirements: Primary Degree in a health discipline. PhD in a subject area related to public health and health care. Considerable research experience at postdoctoral level in administrative data-based public health research. Experience and expertise in use of administrative data within the field of social epidemiology and health determinants. Experience of advancedstatistical analysis of large and complex administrative, clinical or public health datasets using relevant statistical packages such as R or STATA. Research profile which complements the research priorities and strengths of the ADRC NI, CPH and SMDBS. Evidence of developing research methodologies, models, approaches and techniques that will advance the research goals of ADRC NI, CPH and SMDBS. Recent, relevant publications in peer reviewed/refereed journals that are at recognised internationally as being high quality, commensurate with experience. Experience of presentations at national and international meetings and conferences. Relevant teaching experience at University Level. Experience in advising and supervising researchers.
