Candidates who are available before September may be considered for an earlier start.This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who benefit from a smaller, structured learning environment, designed to support children with autism and additional needs while maintaining links to mainstream education.The Role:Working as part of a dedicated SEN team, you will provide tailored support to pupils who require a consistent, nurturing approach to learning and behaviour.Key responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting pupils with autism (ASD) on an individual and small‑group basis
2. Delivering targeted support within the specialist provision, with planned access to mainstream lessons
3. Reinforcing routines, structure, and positive behaviour strategies
4. Helping pupils developmunication, social skills, and emotional regulation
5. Assisting with learning activities adapted to individual needs and EHCP oues
6. Supporting transitions throughout the school day
7. Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
8. Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress discussions
9. Supporting with personal care where required (training provided)
The Ideal Candidate:
10. Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEN, SEND, or school settings
11. A patient, consistent, and empathetic approach
12. Confidence supporting pupils with autism and associated needs
13. Strong teamwork andmunication skills
14. A passion for inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
15. Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2/3) are beneficial but not essential
