SEN Teaching Assistant – Dorking

Position: Full-Time / Part-Time (Term-Time Only)

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools in the Dorking area.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD)
* Working closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver personalised learning plans
* Creating a safe, positive and nurturing classroom environment
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Helping students build confidence, independence, and social skills
* Foster a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

Essential Requirements:
* A genuine interest in supporting children with special needs
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
* Willingness to learn and take part in training

Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous experience in an SEN or mainstream school setting
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA Certificate, SEND training)
* Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, Team Teach or similar

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
