Associate Solicitor (Private Client)
Michelmores LLP is inviting applications for an Associate Solicitor (Private Client) to join the Private Client team based in Bristol or Exeter.

What you will do
Examples of recent work include:
* Advising trustees of a family trust on land transfer to the next generation while mitigating future inheritance tax and drafting relevant documentation.
* Working with the strategic land team to advise a landowner on structuring land ownership before entering a promotion agreement.
* Advising a family business owner on business transfer and inheritance tax position, including options for improving the tax position and dividing the estate among seven children.
* Assisting an Italian non‑UK domiciled client on pre‑arrival planning and overseas workday relief while moving to the UK.
* Restructuring a Jersey trust and underlying company holding UK property for a client living in South Africa, to pass wealth to Australian and UK resident children.
* Advising a UK/US couple on their estate planning, reviewing a lifetime revocable grantor trust and UK tax position.
* Guiding executors of an estate with significant farming assets on APR and BPR claims, targeting administration for the benefit of the surviving spouse and wider family.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
* 2–5 years’ post‑qualification experience in private client work, focusing on wealth protection, estate planning, and estate administration.
* The ability to assume responsibility quickly.
* Experience meeting financial and non‑financial targets.
* An understanding of the importance of delivering both legal excellence and commercial advice aligned with client objectives.
* A strong interest in our values and ambition.
