About the Role
Are you a graduate eager to build a meaningful career in education, psychology, or child development? This is an exciting opportunity to step into a rewarding role where you’ll directly support young people with additional needs and play a key part in their academic and personal growth. We are working with a network of inclusive and forward-thinking primary and secondary schools in Barking, seeking motivated graduates to join as Learning & Inclusion Mentors. This role offers hands‑on experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs in dynamic classroom settings.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
* Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
* Helping create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
* Supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic development
* Monitoring progress and contributing to student support plans
* Encouraging confidence, independence, and active participation
Who We’re Looking For
* A graduate (Arts, Psychology, Education, or Science backgrounds welcome)
* Experience working with children or young people (school, tutoring, care, coaching, etc.)
* Strong communication skills and a proactive, empathetic approach
* Calm, patient, and adaptable under pressure
* A genuine interest in SEND, education, or child development
* Teaching Assistant qualifications are a bonus, but not essential
