About The Role
The Biostatistics Research Group, Division of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Leicester is seeking a Senior Research Associate/Research Fellow on a fixed-term basis for up to 3 years. The successful candidate will play a central role in the NIHR-MRC funded methodology research programme involving methods for evaluation of surrogate endpoints and their use in health technology assessment (HTA). The research will involve undertaking a range of techniques, including individual participant data (IPD) and multivariate meta‑analysis methods development, survival analysis for extrapolations and decision modelling.
The role offers valuable experience in the analysis of data from a range of sources of evidence, including clinical trials and electronic health records, and engagement with interdisciplinary stakeholders, including academics, public & patient representatives, industry representatives and policy‑makers (including NICE).
About You
You will have a PhD in Medical Statistics / Statistics / Biostatistics / Health Economics or a closely related area and excellent skills and postdoctoral level experience in advanced evidence synthesis, including Bayesian inference. You will also have effective interpersonal skills and a strong foundation in statistical methods applied to HTA research.
In addition, the postholder will be supported and encouraged to develop their own methodological research interests and develop a personal fellowship application.
