Sulis Hospital, part of the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, is looking for a Procurement Manager to join our growing team. The role reports to the Supply Chain and Procurement Lead and will be fully on‑site, working 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for contract management, catalogue updates, and purchase of goods, materials and services to meet operational needs.
* Ensure price, quality and delivery meet established targets and maintain continuity of supply.
* Provide contract and tender support for clinical trials and non‑clinical activities.
* Develop, strengthen and implement procurement processes and controls to achieve value for money.
* Partner with Finance, Business Development and Operational teams to build strong commercial links.
* Work independently, prioritise tasks and adapt flexibly to changing demands.
* Document and report procurement activities, including cost savings and business improvements.
* Operate as the procurement professional with a positive and strategic mindset.
Qualifications
* Relevant degree in business, commercial, manufacturing or engineering, or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification.
* Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
* Proven experience in a purchasing management role, preferably within healthcare.
* Strong contract management and supplier development experience.
* Knowledge of healthcare processes and supply chain management.
* Computer literate, especially in Excel, and capable of project management.
* Experience in manufacturing or larger organisations.
* Super‑user experience with Genesis/Compucare (training can be provided).
* Effective communication skills and ability to add value, reduce costs and drive improvements.
* Excellent report writing, verbal and presentation skills.
