Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
* As a member of the Executive Team supporting the strategic direction and delivery of HUCs strategy.
* Leadership and accountability for our Finance, IT, Governance, People, Communications and Marketing functions.
* Lead on the production of annual report and accountability report.
* Ensuring the organisation has appropriate policies and processes in place to cover finance, people, clinical and health and safety.
* Take responsibility as HUC's Data Protection Officer.

Person Specification
Education and Qualification
Essential
* Graduate or equivalent qualification
* Chartered member or Fellow of the CIPD /CIM/CIMA /CISI, ACCA, or equivalent with relevant CPD.
* Full UK driving Licence or the ability to travel to HUC and commissioner locations.
Desirable
* Post Graduate qualification/MSc or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Significant business focused and 'hands on' general management experience generalist with sound knowledge of Governance/HR and Digital best practice, legislation, and practice.
* Experience in management of an organisations finance function include budgeting, cost control, audit and statutory returns.
* Proven track record of dynamic leadership of multi-functional teams including effective planning and prioritising.
* Successful history of developing innovative talent acquisition strategies and processes.
* Proven understanding of budget management, audit, cost controls and departmental transformation to generate efficiencies.
* Strong understanding of the NHS and wider health sector at a senior level.
* Demonstrable commitment to and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion.

* Experience in technology and healthcare digital delivery, information security and data legislation
Skills and Abilities
Essential
* Strong leadership and motivation skills acting with integrity whilst valuing diversity ideally an individual working at Board level with Executive and Non-Executive/Trustee experience gained with both the commercial and not for profit sectors.
* A natural influencer, proven negotiator, comfortable debater with sound business and technical reasoning plus commercial awareness with the ability to anticipate alternative scenarios and prepare according.
* Ability to display a sound and comprehensive understanding of the complex needs of many stakeholders at HUC and engage successfully with colleagues at all levels and build successful working relationships when it comes to working with our Exec, Commissioners and Agencies.
* A problem solver who provides solutions that make a difference with the ability to evaluate complex decision-making processes and ensure outcomes are clearly understood and acted-upon.
* Ability to use data, metrics, and evidence to inform and drive decision making and change across the organisation/business areas.

* Proven track record in implementing and delivering on strategic projects working to tight deadlines.
