Mechanical Design Engineer & Mechanical Draughtsman 3–6-month contract Rate: £35.00 - £42.50p/h Middlesborough / Darlington / Hartlepool / Sunderland SolidWorks / PDM I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client-based Teesside who are globally recognised engineering and manufacturing business operating across several high-profile industries including defence, marine & offshore. Due to a new project win, they are looking for experienced Mechanical Design Engineers & Draughtsman to join their team on an interim basis for an initial 3–6-month contract. For this position, you will be required to conduct the following daily duties: 3D modelling in SolidWorks - designing enclosure modifications, bespoke brackets, manifolds and internal component layouts Supporting, updating and maintaining existing 3D models and engineering drawings Finalising and issuing manufacturing drawings to the required standard Defining and applying appropriate tolerances across all designed components Attending weekly cross-functional project meetings with project managers and technical leads Daily catchups with the mechanical team lead to review workload and progress The successful contractor will need to have the following attributes: Solid, hands-on SolidWorks experience used in a real working environment Familiarity with assemblies and a mix of commercial off-the-shelf and bespoke parts Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings Background in mechanical design or draughting - degree qualified ideally, though strong experience will be considered PDM experience desirable but not essential - full training provided · The benefits of this position: Work on safety-critical systems Join a globally recognised, award-winning engineering business Collaborative and supportive team environment Outside IR35 contract I am looking to speak to talented Mechanical Design Engineers who are looking for a rewarding and technically challenging position.
