As an ELSA, you will play a vital role in supporting children's emotional and social development, helping them build confidence and resilience both inside and outside of the classroom.
About The Role

As an ELSA, you will play a vital role in supporting children's emotional and social development, helping them build confidence and resilience both inside and outside of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
As an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) in Walton-on-Thames, you will:
* Work with children across Walton-on-Thames primary schools on a 1:1 and small group basis.
* Support pupils experiencing emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties.
* Implement tailored interventions to promote emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
* Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and parents to ensure children receive the right level of support.
* Provide a safe and nurturing space where children feel listened to, valued, and understood.
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children, ideally as an ELSA or in a pastoral/learning support role.
* Strong understanding of children's emotional needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build trust and positive relationships with children and staff across Walton-on-Thames schools.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
