Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Based at Tamworth (some travel to Scunthorpe required)
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Reports To: Divisional Marketing Manager
Job Purpose:
Ensure the business has the correct product/service propositions to take advantage of growth opportunities identified within both existing and new market sectors.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Map out the shape of our market and identify where opportunities for significant growth exist and how best to maximise these opportunities
2. Understand customer buyer behaviour in our market, defining each customer type / persona and associated route to market
3. Understand our competitors and identify potential competitive advantage in each product category
4. Identify and map out any new market sector opportunities
5. Create value propositions for each customer type / persona
6. Identify gaps or improvements in our product and / or service offer required to target growth
7. Project manage cross departmental teams to deliver product improvements and NPD, on time on budget
8. Formulate go-to-market strategies and oversee the delivery of product launches including post-launch follow ups to measure success
Key Experiences and Skills Required:
9. Minimum 5 years' experience in a product marketing management role ideally within the building products sector, distribution, or industrial manufacturing
10. B2B experience essential, B2C would be advantageous in addition to B2B
11. Proven track record of delivering successful product development initiatives that have grown sales at good margin
12. Thorough knowledge of product development process and product life cycle
13. Experienced in product pricing, positioning and margin analysis
14. Proficient in market research and reporting
15. Experienced in forecasting based on market trends
16. Ability to build excellent working relationships with wider marketing, sales, technical and ops teams
17. Strong commercial awareness
18. Excellent project management skills and budget management
19. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:
26. Degree educated or CIM marketing qualification
27. Proficient in MS Office and confident utilising unfamiliar software
28. Good organisational skills
