Child Protection & Children in Need

Pay rate: £39 per hour
We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a Child Protection & Children in Need team based in Merseyside. In this role, you will provide effective child-centered services to children in need of support and protection. Your responsibilities include contributing to service strategies, policies, and procedures. The team works directly with children and their families and collaborates with agencies such as police and health services to achieve positive outcomes and sustainable change.
The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer required. Each team comprises 6 social workers and a Team Manager. You will receive support through regular supervision, training opportunities, and access to resources. You will work in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered social care services.
Using your professional knowledge and experience, you'll make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Your excellent communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs. You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable results, striving to provide the best outcomes for children and their families, with a focus on protection and support for the most vulnerable.

Ideal candidate will be:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Committed to continuous improvement for children's outcomes
* Skilled in mediation and negotiation
* Able to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
* Qualified for 4+ years
In this role, you will:
* Assess risks, protection, and social care needs
* Manage an agreed caseload
* Use specialist communication skills for optimal outcomes
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and dignity
* Support and advise unqualified staff and students
