About the role
As a Vehicle Technician in one of our workshops, you'll primarily repair and maintain our fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy to VOSA and Partnership standards. You'll work with experienced technicians who will provide tools and support to help you succeed and develop your career.
At a glance
Salary range: Up to £42,200 per annum, depending on experience
Contract type: Permanent
Work Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with earliest start at 6am and latest finish at 5pm. Optional Saturday overtime is available but not guaranteed.

About the role
Carry out scheduled repairs and maintenance for the Waitrose E-Commerce Vehicle fleet and nearby branch vehicles, providing technical support to the transport department and branches.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform scheduled repairs and maintenance within a 60-mile radius of Leylands, using a business vehicle for travel.
* Maintain outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches.
* Accurately complete inspection, service, job cards, and defect documentation per operator license and DVSA guidelines.
* Use IT systems like Key2, Service Rapido, and diagnostic tools effectively.
* Follow health and safety procedures on site and roadside.
* Attend breakdowns responsibly, considering lone working guidelines.
* Take ownership of personal and technical development with team support.
* Contribute to departmental improvements and fleet technical enhancements.
* Share information and support peers.
* Attend manufacturer technical training updates.
* Stay informed about industry developments.
* Keep the work area clean and tidy.
* Manage your time efficiently and proactively in the workshop.
* Work collaboratively as part of the team.
Essential Skills
* Experience in commercial vehicle workshop environments.
* City & Guilds 1, 2, 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Skills
* HGV experience.
* EV Level 3 qualification.
* Tail lift repair experience.
