Description About the role Working as part of our Highways division you will be joining our experienced team to successfully deliver quality projects and support Cornwall’s growth, whilst contributing to our safety-first culture. We work collaboratively with our teams across a diverse portfolio of maintenance and construction projects. These include: highway drainage footways and patching structures environmental improvements traffic schemes These will deliver crucial modernisation to Cornwall’s infrastructure. Key responsibilities Safety is paramount to the Working Foreman role and responsibilities. You will be responsible and accountable for all Health & Safety compliance on sites, such as ensuring appropriate use of PPE, supporting with risk assessments and delivering a daily pre-start briefing to staff members therefore communication is also key. You will be responsible for the supervision of multiple gangs undertaking a variety of works You will work alongside operational staff to support delivery and achieve targets as well as coaching and mentoring junior staff as required. You will also be required to support the Area Manager in daily tasks such as resource management, employee relations, the ordering and monitoring of plant and material, whilst encouraging and supporting your team to deliver safe, innovative and cost effective practical solutions on a daily basis. To find out more about the role please take a look at the role profile About you We are looking for you to bring the following skills and attributes: Full UK driving licence Significant technical and practical experience Ability to resolve problems and react to changing situations and deadlines Relevant NVQ level 2 / equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience. CSCS registration Good working knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures and their application Ability to supervise specialist operatives and subcontractors Good verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with others Our offer to you Salary: up to £42,648 Working Hours: 45 hours Contract Type: Permanent Based: A working mix of office and out on the road with Scorrier as a base depot.
