Job Description

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Hydraulics Engineer UK, International & Offshore Sites

Are you an experienced Hydraulics Engineer or Time-Served Tradesperson with a background in mechanical or electrical systems? Do you enjoy a mix of workshop and field-based environments, tackling a variety of high-value, bespoke projects rather than repetitive mass production? Join a long-established, expanding business providing premium pipework solutions since 1974, where your skills will be valued and continually developed.

About the Role

As a Hydraulics Engineer, you'll divide your time between the Sunderland workshop and working away on various client projects. You will travel across the UK, internationally, and offshore—either independently or as part of a team—installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex hydraulic systems while representing the company with professionalism and pride.

Location: Ossett Facility (UK, international, and offshore travel required)

Hours: Basic 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday, with weekend overtime required at times)

Salary: £30,000.00 - £40,000.00 per year, plus excellent benefits

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out fault finding, repair, and maintenance of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors.
* Execute flushing and pressure testing on various systems.
* Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, standard specifications, and hydraulic/electrical circuits.
* Work efficiently both in the workshop and on-site across various project durations.
* Adhere strictly to Health & Safety requirements in all environments, including working outdoors in all-weather elements.
* Collaborate as part of a team or work individually to deliver high-quality solutions and customer satisfaction.

About You

* Hydraulics Engineer or Time-Served Tradesperson (mechanical or electrical) with solid hydraulic experience is essential.
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings and hydraulic/electrical circuits.
* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with a professional, proactive attitude.
* Excellent communication skills and a firm grasp of Health & Safety protocols.
* Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, internationally, and offshore.
* Prepared to work overtime, including weekends, and comfortable working outside.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
* Advantageous: Experience with pressure testing and hot oil flushing, or a forklift truck licence. xsngvjr

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a company that encourages personal development, provides all specialist tools, and offers great perks like single-occupancy hotels with fully paid breakfasts when working away, comprehensive expense schemes, and generous overtime rates.
