Overview
We are offering one Anaesthetic Junior Clinical Fellow post at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, commencing August 2025. This is a fixed‑term post for 6 months, with a possible opportunity to extend. Applicants should have full GMC registration and at least three years of anaesthesia experience. The post is suited to individuals between Core and Specialty training in Anaesthesia (Stage 1 / 2) and those preparing for an ST4+ Specialty Training.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Full GMC registration
* Minimum three years of anaesthesia experience
* Experience between Core and Specialty (Stage 1 / 2) training, or preparation for ST4+ Specialty Training
* Ability to deliver high‑quality anaesthesia service within a 24‑hour rota
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of a high‑quality 24‑hour Anaesthetic service, including participation in out‑of‑hours rotas and coverage of Enhanced Perioperative Care (EPOC), Obstetrics and Critical Care in addition to General Anaesthesia duties
* Work flexibly when required, depending on demand
* Provide internal cover for colleagues on leave
* Maintain a logbook and portfolio, engage with supervision, undergo medical appraisal and develop a learning plan/PDP
* Comply with Trust policies, the GMC’s “Maintaining Good Medical Practice” guidelines, Health & Safety policies, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff
* Maintain effective working relationships with anaesthetic, nursing, operating department, critical care, midwifery and surgical colleagues
Clinical Environment
* Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) – acute setting with a substantial surgical workload, including neurosurgery, spinal surgery, head and neck, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgery, the region’s only Major Trauma Centre, Emergency Department, Children’s Hospital, Treatment Centre, Trent Simulation Centre and Medical School
* Nottingham City Hospital (NCH) – planned care campus where cardiac, thoracic, urology, the majority of cancer surgery and renal transplants are undertaken
