Overview and Responsibilities

The main purpose of the role:
As our Land-Based Outdoor Education Teacher, you will plan and deliver outdoor education, life skills, and learning outside of the classroom, supporting the curriculum's purposes and implementation.
The role involves developing the Outdoor Education and Life Skills programme collaboratively and providing support for students, teachers, and the College.
Key duties include:
* Delivering BTEC Land Based Level 1, with potential future delivery of Level 2
* Teaching horticulture skills
* Managing and developing the college’s organic vegetable garden
* Promoting sustainability and environmental awareness
* Collaborating across the college to reduce the carbon footprint
* Developing outdoor education and life skills programmes
* Ensuring student health, welfare, and safety
* Supporting activities outside the College and in off-site environments
* Applying curriculum knowledge and understanding of SEN
* Facilitating instruction for students with complex needs
* Leading assigned groups
* Participating in student progress meetings and reporting
* Attending education department meetings
* Completing home link reports and academic reports
* Willing to train and deliver Duke of Edinburgh Award
* Supporting literacy, numeracy, and key skills

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidate qualities:
* Experience working with children or young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and SEMH
* Experience with EHCP provision
* Experience in multidisciplinary teams
* Forest School qualification and experience (Desirable)
