Job Description
We’re recruiting for a hands-on Management Accountant / Senior Accounts Assistant to join a growing business based on Flaxby Way. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved across the full finance function and partnering with the wider business.
This role will work closely with the Finance Director, supporting the delivery of accurate financial information and ensuring strong financial processes across the organisation.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in producing financial information and maintaining the integrity of the finance function, including:
Management Accounts & Reporting
* Preparation of monthly management accounts with variance analysis
* Supporting month-end close and reconciliations
* Maintaining accruals, prepayments and fixed asset schedules
* Journal preparation and financial reporting support
Sales & Customer Finance
* Financial oversight of the sales process
* Preparing and issuing customer invoices
* Monitoring aged debtors and supporting credit control activities
* Resolving customer finance queries
Purchase-to-Pay
* Processing supplier invoices
* Managing supplier queries and relationships
* Preparing payment runs
Cashflow & Forecasting
* Weekly cashflow forecasting
* Monitoring bank transactions and cash movements
* Supporting annual budgets and financial forecasting
Compliance & Controls
* Supporting VAT return preparation
* Maintaining financial controls and ensuring accurate financial records
* Supporting the annual audit process
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Experienced within a finance team environment
* Comfortable producing or assisting with management accounts
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Able to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
* Proactive and confident working across different areas of finance
Experience with international or group accounting would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
