About the Role:
We are seeking a committed, experienced, and motivated Supervising Senior Caseworker to join our specialist Immigration and newly formed Legal Aid team. This senior-level position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services across our immigration practice. You will report directly to the Department Director and be responsible for managing your own complex immigration caseload while supervising, developing, and supporting a team of lawyers and caseworkers.
This is a dynamic role that blends technical legal expertise, mentoring, and operational oversight. You will lead by example in providing Legal Aid and private immigration services—fostering a culture of continuous learning, compliance, and compassion in line with our firm’s values.

Joining us as a Senior Caseworker with IAAS Supervisor status means more than casework — you’ll help shape the culture, standards, and direction of our Legal Aid services. You’ll provide supervision, manage legal risk, and contribute to life-changing outcomes for clients, supported by a collaborative team.
Main Responsibilities of the Role:
* Provide technical leadership and manage caseworkers, trainees, and solicitors.
* Manage a portfolio of Legal Aid and private immigration matters including asylum, human rights, detention work, trafficking victims, entry clearance appeals, judicial reviews, and tribunal cases.
* Oversee case allocation and capacity planning.
* Prepare and manage Legal Aid funding applications and related documentation.
* Draft legal documents such as witness statements, representations, and bundles.
* Attend conferences, hearings, and court as required.
* Deliver internal training and ensure legal quality across the team.
* Contribute to business development and firm marketing initiatives.
Key Skills Required:
* Practicing Certificate (valid) and IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker accreditation (required at application).
* Supervisory experience and performance management skills.
* Strong knowledge of immigration, asylum, detention, and public law.
* Experience with Legal Aid funding, billing, and compliance.
* Exceptional client care skills, especially with vulnerable individuals.
* Proactive leadership with training and mentoring commitment.
* Advocacy experience is an advantage.
* IT and case management proficiency.
* Experience in immigration tribunals and private client immigration matters.
* Familiarity with internal audits, capacity reporting, and team performance monitoring.
