Salary: £55,155
Hours: 35 per week
Monday to Friday.
The Literacy and Numeracy Development Officer will work as part of the Tynecastle Learning Community (Balgreen Primary School, Craiglockhart Primary School, Dalry Primary School, Stenhouse Primary School and Tynecastle High School).
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Tynecastle Learning Community to support literacy and numeracy development across the partner schools.
* Contribute to planning strategically and deliver targeted interventions in literacy or numeracy as required.
* Demonstrate flexibility and a solution‑focused approach; manage time effectively and communicate with various stakeholders.
* Support pupils in achieving attainment goals and contribute to pastoral care and welfare within the school community.
Qualifications and Experience
* Committed and enthusiastic teacher with experience in raising attainment.
* Experience of targeted interventions in literacy or numeracy is advantageous.
* Ability to plan strategically, excellent communication skills, ability to form relationships quickly, and strong time management.

Tynecastle High School is a six-year comprehensive secondary school serving west-central Edinburgh. The school supports a broad range of subjects and prepares students for SQA exams at all levels. A bank of strategies supports the successful integration of pupils with diverse needs; the school has a record of supporting pupils into higher education and employment. A caring and welcoming environment with a focus on pastoral care underpins purposeful learning. Employment checks and equality
The post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required for certain applicants. An unconditional offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory outcome of pre‑employment checks. Salaries are in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
