Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to work as our lead nurse for the inpatient diabetes team at Countess of Chester NHS trust. This role is ideal for a current band 7 nurse seeking further development, or a band 6 nurse with inpatient experience wanting to expand their expertise in diabetes care. You will shape the inpatient diabetes experience for patients, families, and staff.
The post involves leading the service, planning future care for inpatients with diabetes, and working within the MDT diabetes team and hospital specialties to ensure a future-ready service. You should demonstrate empathy, good communication skills, and a professional attitude. Excellent clinical, organizational, IT, and communication skills are essential.
Main Responsibilities
* Implement and recommend treatment as an independent practitioner based on expert clinical knowledge.
* Provide evidence-based, highly specialist clinical care, training, and consultancy to patients and professionals.
* Advise, support, and educate patients and their families.
* Participate in MDT meetings, referrals, and case conferences.
* Manage inpatient caseloads with complex needs.
* Act as an expert resource for diabetes care in secondary and community settings.
* Maintain high standards of clinical practice and expertise.
