Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Joinery Estimator with experience in preparing estimates and bids for joinery projects, along with a good understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
Working as the Quantity Surveyor / Joinery Estimator, you will focus on the financial and contractual aspects of residential or commercial joinery projects.
You will collect and analyze data to support the company's operations and strategic planning.
Manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost planning, procurement, and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
* Preparing detailed and competitive estimates and bids for residential and commercial joinery projects, including Fire Doors.
* Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to project costs, materials, and labor.
* Managing financial and contractual aspects throughout project lifecycle.
* Developing and maintaining accurate cost plans and budgets.
* Managing procurement, sourcing materials, and negotiating with suppliers.
* Administering contracts, ensuring compliance, and managing variations.
* Identifying and mitigating financial and contractual risks.
* Providing financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders.
* Collaborating with project teams to ensure timely project delivery within budget.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role.
* Experience in estimating and bidding for joinery projects, especially Fire Doors is highly desirable.
* Understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
* Solid knowledge of construction methods.
* Strong data analysis, research methodology, and estimation skills.
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to read plans and navigate specifications.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field.
* Certification such as CPE is a plus.
