Join Our Team at Stantec
Are you passionate about sustainability and delivering innovative engineering solutions? Join Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, and make a real impact on the water industry.
We are expanding in Northern Ireland and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond. We continue our work on Northern Ireland Water’s IF182 Professional Services Framework and have moved to a new city center office in Belfast.
This pipeline of work, along with opportunities across the AMP8 cycle in the UK—including supporting Southern Water—means we are seeking Civil Engineers at all levels with experience in the water/wastewater industry to join us.
In addition to local projects, you will support Southern Water's AMP8 Professional Services Framework, delivering resilience and improvement schemes across southern England. This includes designing nature-based solutions to improve water quality, reduce overflows, enhance biodiversity, and lead in hydraulic modelling, water recycling, and digital innovation.
Role: Design Manager - Major Projects
As a Design Manager within our Major Projects community, you will oversee the successful delivery of major projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities include managing design & build projects, detailed design delivery, and owner’s engineer services, requiring complex collaboration internally and externally.
You will identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with clients and partners, plan technical delivery, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver value and excellence. You will have access to Stantec’s expertise to help you exceed client expectations.
About You
You should be a degree-qualified (or equivalent) engineer, ideally chartered or a member of a relevant engineering institution. Support for achieving chartership can be provided. Your background may be in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
You should have previous design experience in the water sector, preferably with a consultancy, and experience with wastewater projects. A passion for solving engineering problems, leadership ability, and confidence to drive challenging solutions are essential.
We offer opportunities for various seniority levels, supporting those looking to start or advance their leadership careers.
