Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for a Children's Palliative Clinical Lead to join the team in our Black Country Hospice, Walsall.
Responsibilities
* Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of a largemulti-disciplinaryteamconsistingofallgradesofnursingstaff,students and support workers
* Manageand co-ordinatethe clinicalarea,participating in direct patient care and supervision of staff.
* Demonstrate expertise in symptom management and end of life care including after death care, to support staff to develop skills
* Participateinthe development andimplementation of newinitiativesand contribute to the advancement of clinical practice within the hospice
* To promote communication with the children and young people, encouraging them to express their wishes and concerns to their best ability (this may include non‑verbal, electronic or alternative communication methods)
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse
* Non‑medical prescriber (or willing to undertake)
* Experience of palliative care
* Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical skills to include IV therapy, patient assessment skills, airway management and to develop further skills as required.
* Care and Assessment of the acutely unwell child

Location: Black Country Hospice, Walsall (WS5 4NL).
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Eligibility and Checks
You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references. In addition, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of immunisation against specific diseases or confirm their willingness to receive the necessary vaccinations.
