I’m currently working in partnership with a large, well-established primary school in the heart of Barry to recruit an exceptional one-to-one Teaching Assistant, starting in April 2026 through to the end of the academic year.
This is a full-time, term-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:40am – 3:20pm), offering a daily rate of £95 (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break).
In this role, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil currently in Year 2, transitioning into Year 3. The child requires consistent, nurturing support due to a diagnosis of ADHD and suspected Autism, which can impact concentration, social interaction, and engagement within the classroom.
This isn’t just another classroom role—this is an opportunity to build a meaningful, trusting relationship and play a key role in shaping a child’s experience of education. You’ll need to bring patience, empathy, and creativity, adapting your communication style to meet the child where they are, tapping into their interests, and helping them feel safe, understood, and motivated to learn.
The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong understanding of:
Autism / Asperger’s
ADHD
SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), including trauma and neglect

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
