The Opportunity
We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our production team on a days-based shift pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, improving plant performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of mechanical equipment
* Respond to and resolve breakdowns efficiently, minimising downtime
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and rotating equipment
* Support continuous improvement activities to enhance machine reliability and performance
* Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth operations
* Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
* Contribute to a strong health & safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with regulations
About You
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment - ex-forces encouraged to apply
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and generators
* Experience working with PPM systems and maintenance planning tools
* Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, NVQ, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
* A proactive, hands‑on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
