The role is accountable for Carrier Growth & Partnerships, opening new opportunities with parcel networks, depots, and fleets; securing capacity and expanding coverage across the UK. This includes revenues and service performance, with a combined target for revenue growth.
You will be the Client Interface, acting as a liaison and working closely with carriers, depots, and customer sites to understand their pain points. The goal is to create win-win solutions that solve real operational problems and ensure their needs are met throughout the delivery process.
Key responsibilities include performance management, driving higher standards across our clients' drivers and fleets through data, feedback, and strong relationships. Ensuring an excellent customer experience and driving contract retention and growth is also essential.
Additional responsibilities include tracking key metrics and using the data to identify and implement service improvements, maintaining ongoing awareness of market conditions and trends, and representing the company when required to major customers, partners, and professional associations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of parcel networks, express logistics, 3PLs, or consultancy, with experience solving carrier or capacity challenges. Good business acumen, with the ability to analyze data, quantify the cost and impact of solutions, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and/or value creation, is also necessary.
Strong communication and interaction skills are required, along with an eye for detail, a passionate and energetic personality, and an entrepreneurial builder mindset. The ability to plan and organize, with excellent communication skills, is also essential. Tech savviness, with knowledge of software solution platforms, APIs, and commonly used IT infrastructure, specifically in logistics and carrier management, is a plus.
Understanding of the UK market, with European knowledge a bonus, and proven problem-solving skills with commercial acumen and relationship-building strength, are also necessary. The ability to quickly translate complicated technical or logistics challenges into a practical project plan is also required.
