Literacy Support Assistant – Maternity Cover

Start Date: September 2026Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8:05am – 3:05pm)Contract: Term time only + 1 INSET daySalary: NJC Points 7–11 (£19,888 – £21,198 per annum)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and committed Literacy Support Assistant to join a dedicated learning support team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, supporting the development of literacy skills for those who may find this area of learning challenging. You will play a key role in helping students build confidence, improve attainment, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students in developing literacy skills through targeted interventions
• Work with individuals and small groups to raise attainment
• Deliver structured literacy support sessions
• Prepare, organise, and manage learning resources
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment
