Workshop Manager - Engineering EnvironmentNorthampton, Northamptonshire£50,000 - £60,000 + Full Benefits PackageWe are partnering with an internationally recognised engineering services organisation to appoint an experienced and commercially astute Workshop Manager to lead its service operation in Daventry.Our client supports a diverse range of sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, manufacturing and critical services. With a long-standing reputation for engineering excellence, innovation and quality, they are now seeking a strong operational leader to take full ownership of workshop performance and drive standards across the business.The OpportunityThis is a pivotal leadership role within the UK service function. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the workshop, ensuring operational efficiency, technical quality, safety compliance and customer satisfaction remain central to delivery.You will: Lead, motivate and develop a team of skilled technicians Set clear performance expectations and productivity standards Plan workflow effectively and allocate resources to meet service KPIs Ensure turnaround times and customer commitments are consistently achieved Oversee stock control, tooling, equipment calibration and workshop compliance Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and operational excellence Manage budgets, control costs and drive continuous improvement initiativesThis role requires a leader who is comfortable taking ownership, driving accountability and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced engineering environment.About YouWe are seeking a technically strong and commercially aware engineering professional with: A solid mechanical engineering background Experience gained within a service, plant, power generation or heavy equipment environment A proven track record of managing technical teams and improving workshop performance Budget management and cost control experience Strong organisational and workflow planning capability Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling systemsExposure to the following equipment would be highly advantageous: Diesel generators Portable air compressors De-watering pumps Lighting towers Battery Energy Storage Systems Plant, heavy equipment or rotating machineryThis opportunity would particularly suit individuals who have progressed from hands-on engineering into supervisory or management roles.
