The Production Planner is responsible for determining actionable and efficient daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, considering available resources including materials, labor, and equipment.
This role reports to the Production and Materials Planning Manager and is part of the Operations Planning Department located in Cambridge, on-site. Our vision at Abcam is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Ensure planning schedule delivers against OTIF requirements to meet customer needs.
2. Create, monitor, and adjust production schedules based on changing conditions (delays, sick leaves, equipment issues). Collaborate with the Global Supply Planning team to report on plan execution and capacity issues.
3. Resolve issues such as shortages, spikes, and delays affecting on-time delivery.
4. Analyze system and data issues and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
5. Support site projects by identifying process inefficiencies and driving optimization for increased productivity.
The essential requirements include:
1. Experience in manufacturing supply chain planning or biological/pharmaceutical manufacturing with understanding of planning issues.
2. Experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
4. Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize, and multitask.
5. Creative problem-solving skills.
Preferred additional experience:
1. Oracle Cloud ERP system experience.
2. Biological science manufacturing experience.
