About the role
As part of our plan to secure a low-carbon energy future, EDF Energy is leading the way in building a fleet of safe, reliable nuclear power stations in the UK. Sizewell C (SZC) is a proposed new nuclear station being developed with a target to start construction at the end of 2023. It is a nationally significant infrastructure project with a crucial role in the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. The project will significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions in the UK.
The SZC Project Team is a growing, diverse, and collaborative organization committed to engaging stakeholders, obtaining development consent, and preparing for construction.
The Quality function within the Project Delivery Organisation (PDO) is responsible for the Integrated Management System (IMS) and related regulatory Licence Conditions.
What you'll be doing
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is an experienced professional managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. They aim to minimize costs and maximize value for money while maintaining quality standards. Typically, they will be Chartered Members of RICS, ICES, or CIOB, with experience managing small teams and mentoring others towards professional qualifications.

* Essential:
o BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
o Membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards)
* Desirable:

o Business and customer awareness
o Ability to apply organizational aims and objectives
o Recognition of customer needs, opportunities, and threats
o Proven track record in managing and leading large teams
o Experience in mentoring and developing team members with clear development plans
o Strong leadership and management skills, including formal qualifications (e.g., ILM)
o Independent judgment and professional accreditation activities
