We're delighted to share a fantastic opportunity to join our People Team at the British Library

We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with a passion for people and a drive to make a real difference. This is your chance to shape culture, support leaders, and help build a high-performing, inclusive organisation.

You'll bring strong HR generalist experience, excellent knowledge of employment law and casework management, and experience in strategic workforce planning and organisational design. You'll thrive on driving change, challenging the status quo, and supporting initiatives that advance diversity, inclusion and employee engagement.

About the role

As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with managers and senior leaders to deliver proactive, professional HR support across a wide range of people matters. You will provide strategic input while also supporting day-to-day HR operations. You will also play a key role in driving culture change, supporting organisational development, and helping to shape the future of the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Partnering with leaders to develop and deliver workforce plans
* Leading on organisational design and change management initiatives
* Providing expert advice on employment law, employee relations, and casework management
* Supporting talent management, succession planning, and leadership development
* Championing diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement
* Contributing to the development of HR policies and best practice
* Managing a small team of Senior HR and HR Advisors.

We're looking for someone who:

* Thrives on driving change in culture and behaviour
* Has strong HR generalist experience and a proven track record in business partnering
* Brings excellent knowledge of employment law and casework management
* Has experience of leading organisational change and cultural transformation
* Demonstrates strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
* Is committed to diversity and inclusion
* Has the confidence to challenge existing ways of working and shape how we do things in the future
