Purpose of the role
Design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems by collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, designing solutions that balance technology risks with business delivery, and driving consistency.
Accountabilities
1. Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements aligned with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tools. This includes selecting and implementing appropriate technologies and platforms.
2. Apply workload placement strategies that maximize cloud benefits such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
3. Incorporate security principles (defense in depth, reducing blast radius) to meet the Bank’s resiliency standards.
4. Balance risks and controls to deliver value to the business and technology.
5. Adopt standard solutions where appropriate; contribute to their ongoing development when no standard solutions fit.
6. Support operational teams with fault finding and performance troubleshooting, leveraging available tools.
7. Assess impact of solutions in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including project change and ongoing run costs.
8. Develop architecture artifacts required for governance, privacy, security, and records management compliance.
