Overview
Applications are invited for the substantive replacement post of Consultant Paediatrician with interest in Allergy.
The successful candidate will join a close-knit team of paediatricians working across both acute (hospital-based) and community settings in Fife. Services include a 24-bed in-patient ward at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy; a separate children’s out-patient department and ambulatory care unit; and additional out-patient services at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. The post aims to complement the existing Consultant team and provide expertise in Paediatric Allergy care.
The service is dynamic, supported, and well-regarded, with commitments to the local population of Fife and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the acute consultant of the week and on-call rota (currently 1 in 9) at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
* Work within a team delivering paediatric care in both hospital and community settings, including neonatal rota responsibilities.
* Provide Paediatric Allergy expertise within General Paediatrics and contribute to the delivery of high-quality paediatric services.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full GMC Registration, a license to practise, and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
* For UK-trained candidates: evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
* Portfolio Pathway (CESR) route doctors are eligible to apply for a substantive post only once awarded.
* Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to practise as an eligible UK specialist.
* Interviews will be held on 11/11/2025 with a preferred application submission date by 04/11/2025; applications are accepted up until the closing date (closing time: noon on 07/11/2025).
