Gym Instructor / Lifeguard - Didsbury, Manchester Contract: Both full-time and 4 days per week available, both permanent Job Summary The Gym Instructor / Lifeguard plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Leisure Club, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience for all members and guests. This dual-role position is responsible for gym supervision, pool safety, customer engagement, and the delivery of excellent service standards across the facility. Key Responsibilities Support the smooth daily operation of the Leisure Club, maintaining high safety and service standards at all times. Supervise gym users, ensuring correct equipment use and member safety. Conduct 1-to-1 gym appointments, including fitness assessments, screenings, and tailored training plans. Provide guidance on lifestyle changes, health improvement, and basic dietary considerations. Maintain vigilant supervision of the swimming pool, identifying risks and responding swiftly to emergencies. Carry out pool rescues and administer first aid when required. Complete cleaning and maintenance schedules, reporting faults or safety concerns promptly. Deliver consistently high levels of customer service, presenting a professional, friendly, and approachable manner at all times. Assist with fitness classes where qualified (desirable but not essential). Skills, Experience & Qualifications Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. Confident, polite, and approachable, with the ability to engage a diverse membership base of over 7,000 members. Flexible to work shifts, including early mornings (from 6:00am) and late evenings (up to 10:15pm). Ability to teach group exercise classes is desirable but not essential.
