Our client based in Poole has a requirement for an experienced Production Shift Manager to lead a small team consisting of Line Leaders and Production Operatives. Through effective leadership, you will promote a high standard of both personal safety and food safety whilst ensuring the maximum utilisation of labour hours.
Key Accountabilities:
Delivering Results; taking ownership and accountability for managing Shift operations and resources to ensure efficient production plan achievement.
Working together as one; the proactive involvement of stakeholders across the business in making timely decisions for the best business outcome.
Cost; Manage and control material and labour costs to achieve budget and lead improvement activities for cost reduction.
Taking People with you; lead and develop team to high performance including recruitment, training, coaching, communication, motivation and engagement.
Setting the Agenda; supports and communicates innovation and consumer activities.
To promote and lead a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsible for ensuring the team is adhering to safe systems of work processes and acting in a safe manner to protect the health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
To promote a culture of positive safety behaviours within your team, demonstrate strong safety leadership and address unsafe behaviours and working practices to coach the right behaviours.
To ensure you maintain an Environmentally responsible operation though all processes
Follow all Quality systems and procedures to ensure our products meet food safety (HACCP), legal and customer requirements as well as maintaining external standards e.g. BRC, Customer Audits etc.
To deputise for the Operations Manager during meetings, projects, holidays or when required.
Applicants must have recent experience of working within an FMCG production environment at Senior Supervisor or Management level, you must be able to make sound and timely operational decisions within production and to evidence good leaderships skills. You will be a Health & Safety Champion with proven experience with risk identification, management, mitigation or removal.
Knowledge of Food Safety legislation and experience in capital/improvement projects would be an advantage.
You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern of 06:00 am 14:00 pm / 14:00 pm 22:00 pm
The salary for this role is £38, per annum and there is also an attractive bonus and benefits package as well. There is an immediate start available for the right candidate.
