Join Our Team as a Band 4 Infant Feeding Practitioner
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a passionate and dedicated Band 4 Infant Feeding Practitioner to join our Infant Feeding Team, supporting families across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. The role involves providing expert support on breastfeeding and infant feeding practices.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Infant Feeding Team, developing clinical skills to support the Infant Feeding Policy and uphold Baby Friendly Standards. Responsibilities include staff training, audits, and supporting the Specialist Infant Feeding Service. Collaboration with colleagues and community services is essential to promote positive feeding outcomes and deliver high-quality care.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in families' lives and to be a role model in promoting, protecting, and supporting breastfeeding. The focus will be on empowering clinical teams within the Healthy Together 0-5 Service to deliver effective infant feeding support to expectant and new parents, babies, and their families.
Requirements
Applicants must have a full UK driving license and access to a car during working hours.
Main Duties
1. Participate in delivering infant feeding management training and annual updates to clinical teams and partner agencies across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
2. Deliver infant feeding awareness sessions to stakeholders.
3. Serve as a professional resource for parents, families, and the multidisciplinary community team regarding infant feeding, demonstrating high standards of care.
4. Assess feeding practices and attachment, supporting parenting to achieve effective feeding through proper positioning and attachment.
5. Review feeding plans with families to support their feeding goals.
6. Contribute to service improvement through continuous evaluation, involving service users and volunteers.
7. Support the Infant Feeding team in maintaining UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Accreditation by delivering a high-quality service.
8. Assist in delivering the Specialist Infant Feeding Service in the community via clinics, home visits, and virtual support, enhancing client experience through research-based, evidence-supported care.
