Who we are: Everton in the Community has been a dynamic force for good since 1988, using football to drive social change across Liverpool City Region. Supported by over 130 full-time staff and 200+ volunteers, we offer more than 60 programmes addressing health, employability, anti-social behaviour, crime, exploitation, education, dementia, and disability. About the opportunity: We are seeking a Youth Interventions Worker to support the Senior Co-ordinator in delivering interventions tailored to individual needs and identified risk and protective factors, during referral and throughout the programme. You will manage a caseload of young people, devising personalised support plans, provide 1:1 mentoring, targeted workshops, and activities focused on four areas: Physical, Social, Emotional, and Educational. You will collaborate with families and partners to assess needs, provide support, and empower individuals to overcome challenges.
Other key responsibilities include supporting recruitment onto the programme, creating and monitoring risk assessments and innovative support plans, producing qualitative case studies with consent, working with colleagues to broaden opportunities, promoting self-confidence and empowerment, facilitating group work, and conducting 1:1 mentoring and targeted group work. You will also help individuals understand the impact of behaviour on others to build positive community relationships.
Safeguarding: You will understand and implement the Club’s safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe working practices and contribute to an anti-bullying environment.
Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Co-ordinator to ensure that young people are recruited onto the programme
* Complete and translate initial risk assessments into effective and innovative support plans with robust monitoring and evaluation systems
* Produce qualitative case studies on individuals for internal and external stakeholders with consent
* Collaborate with the Youth Inclusion team to provide a wider range of opportunities and support
* Promote self-confidence, esteem and empowerment with programme participants
* Facilitate group work enabling young people to work constructively with others and achieve goals
* Facilitate 1:1 mentoring and targeted group work to help young people achieve their goals
* Work with individuals to explore the effects of inappropriate behaviour and attitudes, building positive community relationships
Safeguarding
* Understand the Club’s safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines
* Apply this understanding to ensure safe working practices and appropriate reporting of concerns
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual with experience working with young people who display challenging behaviour and may be at risk of criminal exploitation. Skills, knowledge and experience required:
* VRQ/NVQ Level 2 in Youth Work or relevant qualification/experience
* Experience in a Youth Work setting
* Experience working with partner organisations in the sector
* Experience managing a caseload of young people aged 8-19
* Strong experience in 1-to-1 support, including assessment, intervention planning and delivery of action plans
* Ability to work with and manage young people displaying challenging behaviour
* Understanding of confidentiality and maintaining boundaries with young people
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently

This position is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week, based across EitC Campus, indoor/outdoor venues, and schools.
