Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Residential Team Leader to join our services in Carlisle. North Lakes Children’s Services provides therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged [age range]. Our aim is to enhance resilience, self-esteem, and skills of young people.
The Team Leader's role involves creating a caring, therapeutic, and educational environment, applying high standards of care and support, and addressing the social, emotional, behavioral, mental health, and learning needs of young people.

* Knowledgeable in therapeutic interventions and experienced as a key worker?
* Able to deputise for the Registered Manager during holidays?
Main Duties
* Support and manage daily team operations and staff development.
* Deputise for the deputy manager when needed.
* Conduct supervisions and support key workers.
* Manage finances for activities.
* Oversee children's daily needs and monitor staff duties.
* Participate in sleep-in duties as required.
* Develop programs to improve children's progress and link to vocational qualifications.
* Build trusting relationships with young people and support their development.
* Plan and support educational, recreational, and social activities.
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and children.
* Follow risk assessments, care plans, and behavioral strategies to meet therapeutic goals.
* Assist children in developing life skills and prepare them for independence.
* Induct new admissions and support transition planning.
* Recognize and address emotional and behavioral issues, liaising with external partners.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Minimum Requirements
* Understanding of issues faced by children in care.
* Qualification in Residential Childcare, Families Practitioner, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
* Willing to undergo DBS check (paid by employer).
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work is advantageous.
* Full UK driving license and flexibility to cover other homes.
