A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join our professional Commercial team in Letchworth. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your primary responsibility will be to lead the production and maintenance of site cost appraisals to facilitate effective budgeting and cost management throughout the whole development cycle, including the maintenance of the regional Build Cost Library.
Responsibilities
* Understand and apply the CDM Regulations within the context of the cost and budgeting processes.
* Comply with the responsibilities of the Croudace Group Health and Safety Policy.
* Apply the regional Build Costs Library to provide simplified pricing templates for use by the Land Team to produce the initial land bids.
* Review site constraints, risks and opportunities alongside cost mitigation strategies.
* Engage with and coordinate external consultants and contractors in the preparation of detailed cost plans, where necessary.
Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying (or building related course) or relevant experience.
* CIOB or RICS qualified or willing to work towards the accreditation and maintain membership.
* Strong understanding of the housebuilding process and construction.
* Excellent knowledge of commercial contracts and arrangements.
* Adept at using computer software and applications for cost control, budgeting, and payments as well as Microsoft Office applications; ideally experience in COINS.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Effective communicator with honed negotiating and influencing skills.
* Ability to clearly explain and discuss cost plans.
* Excellent analytical skills and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
