We’re hiring to ensure our customers get the right solar and storage solutions for their needs and have an excellent quality installation. Every role we’re hiring plays its own part in our mission; our role is to find those people and bring them on our Zero Carbon journey.
This role in a nutshell:
The Technical Design Consultants will review all of the surveys and solar designs completed by the sales and survey team to ensure what's been quoted is compliant and technically feasible to install. You’ll then take all of that information to build really clear installation packs for our installers. These roles help stay on track for our Plan Zero ambitions.
Your key outcomes will be:
* In-depth reviews of remote and site survey information to check technical feasibility of the proposed system design.
* Provide guidance to any Solar PV technical queries that arise in the business.
* Complete DNO applications in line with proposed system design, collaborating closely with sales and survey team as required in relation to DNO feedback.
* Providing technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analysing and resolving project challenges.
* Knowledge of PV industry modeling and simulating assumptions. Work closely with the solar surveying team to ensure quality and accuracy of the team's quotes and surveys.
* Evaluate and own risks, challenges and opportunities, making recommendations on future direction.
* Work with Kaluza Flex colleagues on new technological advancements and customer experience improvements to the solar PV proposition.
* Represent OVO at external industry events to help build its profile and reputation as a tech leader in this space.
Systems: EasyPV, SolarEdge Designer and other PV Design and structural assessment applications
You’ll be a successful Technical Design Consultant at OVO if you…
* Have deep experience in Solar PV system designs, electrical configurations, cable runs, roof construction types, and scaffold requirements.
* Experience in a startup, fast-paced, and tech-based environment.
* Previous experience within MCS accredited organizations.
* Sound technical knowledge of hardware and software solutions relevant to solar PV and battery storage. Experience in installation, repair, or maintenance of electrical, solar PV, and battery systems.
* Roofing/structural assessment, fitting, designing experience.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging audiences at senior exec and C-suite level.
* Proven project management skills with the ability to see the bigger picture and deliver at pace.
* Ability to operate independently at a high level.
* Adaptable and flexible approach to plans, responding confidently to changing scenarios.
