The Procurement Systems and Process Owner will be a proactive and detail oriented member of the Operational Procurement and Systems team. The role is key to driving process-led operational efficiencies, ensuring the seamless adoption and integration of our procurement systems across the organisation.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, and IT to optimise end to end processes, enable technically robust system integrations, and deliver continuous improvements that support our strategic procurement targets. With an excellent grasp of both the technical and functional landscape, you’ll ensure our systems are not only fit for purpose but also enable efficiency, compliance, and insight drive decision making.

As the Procurement Systems and Process Owner (SP), you’ll take end-to-end accountability for the effectiveness, integrity, and continuous improvement of Santander UK’s Procurement technology and processes, ensuring they are robust, secure, and deliver value across the full buying lifecycle.
You’ll be responsible for owing and maintaining the UK’s SP solutions, driving technically enabled enhancements to optimise how we source, contract, and pay, ensuring alignment with policy, regulatory frameworks, and operational risk appetite.
Acting as the UK voice in global SP capability development, you will contribute insight and influence to ensure emerging tools, analytics, and digital procurement strategies are grounded in real operational need, and that our specific regulatory, customer, and commercial requirements are met.
The specific responsibility of the role is to lead and manage the team to deliver the following:
1. Have the responsibility and accountability for the execution and efficiency (including digitization and automation) of all activities in the SP value chain.
2. Sustain and develop processes, templates and training to support the EE Procure to pay approach.
3. Create roadmap for future opportunities available through digital and analytics in SP process and ensure that said roadmap is implemented.
4. Lead/drive the delivery of various Procurement initiatives and lead the support of global/regional projects which have wider Procurement implications.
5. Work with Global Procurement teams and cross-functional business partners to rationalise and simplify processes and data to reduce complexity.
6. Have oversight and support the procurement operations team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of day-to-day services
7. Coordinate with the Data and MI team for all procurement data, to identify continuous improvement opportunities
What you’ll bring:
8. Excellent understanding of the SAP Ariba software suite, plus an understanding of Globality, Service Now, and EcoVadis.
9. Experience leading system enhancements or new deployments, including involvement in design, build, UAT and go live activities
10. Ability to understand complex analytical information and communicate to stakeholders in simple concepts
11. Experience delivering technical and functional optimisation.
12. Proven innovation catalyst, with hands on experience in modern sourcing work (analytics, innovation etc) and modern procurement operations (RPA, AI, Partnering, Outsourcing).
It would also be nice for you to have:
13. Experience leading or supporting Procurement transformation programmes
14. Experience working in regulated industries
15. Excellent change management skills, especially in environments undergoing digital transformation
16. Experience managing external partners

17. This role is based in Milton Keynes.
