The main aim of the role is to deliver specialized nursing care to patients with IBD, including clinical consultation for inpatients and outpatients. The candidate will need to develop advanced clinical skills of history taking, assessment, diagnosis, and prescribing.
Main duties of the job
1. Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). Provide comprehensive clinical skills, information, advice and support to patients with IBD. Work as an independent practitioner alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team. Administer, assess and prescribe specialist medication. Participate in clinical audits in specialist area. Participate in the education and training of the multidisciplinary team within the trust, regionally, nationally and internationally. Provide expert clinical advice and support to all members of the multidisciplinary team. Be flexible within the service to ensure appropriate cover.
