Job Overview
Full‑time Band 5 Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) to join the Anaesthetic Team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The role requires a recognised anaesthetic course/module qualification. There are 13 theatres within the hospital supporting specialities such as orthopaedics, colorectal, ENT, urology, gynaecology and upper GI. The successful candidate will develop skills in both adult and children peri‑operative journeys and gain experience in maternity, MRI and resuscitation areas.
The post holder will work independently and with a multidisciplinary team, manage clinical and satellite areas, implement practice improvements, and participate in the education of staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‑based patient care. Clinical expertise is applied during all phases of the peri‑operative period, including surgical care, anaesthesia, recovery, and satellite areas such as X‑Ray and obstetrics.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC/HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner at degree level or equivalent.
* Accredited Level 5 certificate/module in anaesthetic care (required for anaesthetic role).
Experience
* Knowledge of the theatre environment.
* Experience in a variety of clinical specialities within the operating department (desirable).

* Ability to assume delegated responsibilities within a multidisciplinary setting whilst recognising own limitations.
