Overview
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Grid Automation team as a System Test Engineer. You will report to our Test Manager full-time in our Testing unit in Stone, Staffordshire. As a power systems engineer, you will provide engineering solutions to the end customer, develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, and manage procedures and schedules for completing systems. You will coordinate integrated testing activities, review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the test program is completed, and perform technical analysis of complete systems with comprehensive system-level evaluations. Familiarity with Omicron or Sverker, or Megger sustainable energy testing equipment is expected.
How You\'ll Make An Impact
* Represent PSAC on matters associated with protection engineering.
* Provide technical support to protection team members, as well as our sales and tendering team.
* Act as a focal point for customer approval activities such as Type Registration and project-specific design freezes.
* Provide technical support in evaluating customer requirements and answering technical queries during project deliveries.
* Comply with protection systems design and business processes/procedures.
* Prepare documentation as required: technical specifications, reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations, and design drawings.
* Participate in internal kick-off meetings to impart experience and knowledge into projects from the start.
* Conceptual and detailed design engineering — providing engineering solutions to the end customer.
* Drive engineering timescales, maintain high-quality standards, and optimize project delivery.
Your Background
* Power Systems engineering-related education or the equivalent (HNC or BTEC minimum qualification).
* Strong design and coordination capability in the Power Systems discipline.
* High technical experience with awareness of 2nd injection test set.
* Excellent communication skills with internal and external teams and customers.
* Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry.
* Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
